Celia is happy because she came back negative for any kind of cancerous tumors! for those of you who don’t know, when I first got home from rehab I took my animals to the vet in groups of 3 to get them all checked up. Celia got a clean bill of health at the visit. Afterwards, she rejected two meals in a row and seemed more antsy. I took her back in after this and they saw her mouth was swollen. They treated her for an RI for the following few weeks. She continued to reject food, and the vet said her problems were untouched by the medicine so we tried a different form of antibiotics.... still no progress. Finally, the vet decided it likely wasn’t an RI, so he performed a biopsy. He found a very large mass in her mouth and used some surgical tools to take out as much as he could. He was worried it may be a tumor though, and didn’t know if it was an indication of cancer. We had to force feed her twice as she began to lose weight and I was terrified something was happening that was incurable. After he took a lot of it out though, she ate that week at home just fine!! This week she ate as well! Like I said... the vet called me this week and said the results came back that it ISN’T a tumor and to come in this coming week for the full results and a new treatment plan! So I’ll update y’all with what I learn then and how we will go about fixing her up! I’m just happy my baby is safe ❤️🖤
