It’s hard to find the words to say right now, because there are no words that can bring back George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, or any of the innocent black people who have been and are currently being murdered EVERY SINGLE DAY due to the color of their skin. Racism is not a new thing; this has been passed on through generations. And even when it’s hard to find the words, we can’t look the other way and stay silent on this any longer. I am so angry and completely heartbroken by the hate, division, and injustice that remains in our country. I am so sorry that this has gone on so long. I am so sorry that you have been unheard for so long. I am so sorry that it took an innocent man being murder for the rest of the world to see how cruel you are treated. We shouldn’t still be here — myself and so many others have let down our fellow brothers and sisters who have been mistreated, and I am so sorry. As a white privileged young woman, I cannot relate to being treated differently because of my skin color, I cannot relate to the fear you are feeling right now, I cannot relate to the injustice, but
my heart is breaking with you. We will not stop using our voices until we see change. This isn’t just a moment or a challenge for your instagram, this a movement. If you aren’t angry, you aren’t paying attention. Start the conversation, realize your privilege, and get educated on what you can do to help! No one is free until everyone is free. No lives matter until BLACK LIVES MATTER.
